With the Medical Council of India (MCI) concluding site inspections of the new medical colleges here ‘satisfactorily’, MBBS aspirants in J&K may get added opportunity to secure a seat with the prospect of 400 additional seats.

MCI concluded visit of new medical colleges in J&K at Rajouri last week. Although the letter of permission is awaited, a senior official in health and medical education department said that the Council had expressed its enough satisfaction with the infrastructure and human resource at the colleges to allow the intake of the first batch. “Even though the permanent buildings of the new medical colleges are still incomplete, MCI has been convinced about the suitability of the makeshift buildings for less than one year, till the buildings are complete,” he said.
