CB registers case into illegal appointments in health department

Jammu and Kashmir police’s Crime Branch (CB) registered an FIR into the illegal appointments made in the health department, an official statement issued here said on Thursday.

“Crime Branch Kashmir received a complaint alleging therein that health department Baramulla/Bandipora has made fraudulently and dishonestly several appointments in the department, who were later posted in Bandipora/Gurez,” the statement said.

The statement said that a preliminary verification was conducted during the course of which it came to fore that appointment orders purportedly shown to have been issued by the Director Health Services, Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, Block Medical Officer Bandipora and Gurez.

“The authorities concerned however have denied to have made such appointments,” it said.

The enquiry as per statement further revealed that the officers of health department posted in District Baramulla and Bandipora by misusing their official positions have appointed the individuals namely Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Tantray, Ishfaq Ahmad Tantray, Farooq Ahmad Tantray, Nazir Ahmad Tartary, Gh. Hassan Malik, Raja Mushtaq Ahmad, Mohammad Iqbal Dar all residents of Matrigam Bandipora, while Sajad Hussain Lone from Bagtore, Fayaz Ahmad Lone from Aythmulla, Nazir Ahmad Reshi from Khurseedhpora, Munshi Muneer Ahmad from Quilmuqam, Irshad Ahmad Lone from Chorwan, Shahpora and Mohammad Subhan Reshi in the Bandipora district were posted in health department in Bandipora and Gurez during last two- three years.

“In this manner it was found that officers/ officials of health department of district Baramulla by abuse of their official position have appointed the above mentioned individuals fraudulently and dishonestly thereby confusing a wrongful gain upon the illegal appointees and a corresponding loss to the state exchequer,” the statement said.

“The acts omitted and committed prima-facie discloses commission of offences punishable U/S 420, 467,468, 120-B RPC r/w 5/2 P.C Act. Accordingly, case is registered against them,” the statement mentioned
